I got in this huge line on Thursday night with my good gal pals – Leigh & Kati for Sample Spree. We were trying to get in to buy current samples of fabrics. I had my eye out for Little Apples by Aneela and whatever else I could get my hands on. Didn’t get Little Apples. . . but did get a bunch of Art Gallery and Nancy Mim’s new organic line with Robert Kaufman.
The next night I went to the Modern Quilt Guild meetup with Rachel and Kati. We mostly hung out with Tallgrass (my nickname for her) aka Jacquie from Tallgrass Prairie Studios. We just talked and talked. . and laughed. . . it was great!
Another person I wanted to meet was Heather from House of a la Mode. I sent her a message before she got to SL, UT. . kind of involved:
“If you see a short asian girl running towards you. . . squealing. . that’s me. . don’t be alarmed!”
Yeah so when I saw her. . . kind of a goofball. . but I think she knows I heart her.
Shortly after meeting Heather. . . I was able to giggle it up with Amy Ellis from Amy’s Creative Side. I was kind of bummed that I didn’t get any picture of her. . . but I think someone got one of us.
Saturday morning was Market Day! I met up with a bunch of girls from the guild to walk the floor.
Here are some of my favorite quilts:
I met one of my favorite fabric designers of all time! Aneela from Comfortstitching. She’s so tiny against my fatty-fat self. . lol
After walking market. . . it was on to Blogger’s Quiltmarket Meetup hosted by Mrs Nanette Merrill of Freda’s Hive. Mrs. Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter, and Mrs. Calli Taylor of Make it Do It at the Blue Lemon. It was a blast! We sat, ate, and chatted about market. . while prizes were being given away. Yeah, Rachel and I took home a pretty big prize – the Slice machine! wo0t!
After it was all said n’ done, I got a ton from market – not just swag. . .but the swag was awesome!!
I got to meet my heroes. . . and you know that saying, “never meet your heroes.” Well it was completely wrong! I meet some of my heros/inspirations last weekend and they’re justified why I love them so much. Down to earth and actually people – not just an online persona.
