Face lift

Ha! I didn’t get a face lift. . there are days where I do look in the mirror and wished I could get on though.

Anyway. . if you’ve seen my ole’ site it was kind of generic and old. Well I didn’t really spend time updating the site. I just post to it and added buttons to the side column.

Updating your site (if you have one) has a snowball effect . . you change one thing and then another. . and another. . and finally 6hrs went by and you’re sitting there frustrated because there’s still more to do. That’s when I decided to hire a little help. Two heads are better than one – plus if you hire someone that does it for a living, they’ll do it faster in less time. And you can do something that you’re good at like. . . sewing ha!

Anyway I hired Mint 102 – Sara and Angela gave my blog a cleaner, fresher look!

Mint 102 is an event branding company. We take your event and make it into an unforgettable brand. From the logo to the website, we help you make an impression on your guests that will last a lifetime. Whether you are planning a wedding, baby shower, charity event or birthday party we work with you to make sure all of your collateral is consistent and impressive

I started with a theme from StudioPress. . and was playing around with html. I found that StudioPress was user friendly and if I didn’t know the answer I could google it easily. But I still needed help because spending 6hrs on my blog on a Sunday blew chunks.

StudioPress + Mint 102 + me = Blog face lift

Huge difference right? Yeah, I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback from it. . and it’s makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy that it’s better. . sad that I made ya’ll look at a crappy layout for so long.

Mint 102  would like to giveaway some of the cute icons and help one of my reader with a small face lift on their icons. If you want a chance to win, leave a comment tell me what’s one thing you change in your surroundings be it blog related, home, or work.  Change is good right?

  1. I love it!! Looks fabulous:).

  2. Oh so many things to change on my blog… It is brand new. So let’s start by getting a first post up.

  3. Your blog redo looks great! Good for you!

  4. I think your face lift takes years off you ;) No really, though, I think it looks great! Love the headers on your sidebar, they really catch your eye and draw you over there.

  5. Hiya! Great to see you and your blog! One thing I’d change? Soft color of milk paint on my walls….get rid of about 45% of my stuff (even though it would be hard)…and a MUCH bigger studio. xoxo. ps- I couldn’t figure out how to do this on rafflecoptor :)

  6. I would expand my sewing room by about two feet (not asking for much) and make that a closet the whole width of the room! I don’t have a closet now.
No place to enter by rafflecopter.

  7. The redo looks great! I have been doing the same thing on my blog and contemplating whether or not to hire out. I did get Touchdraw though, and that’s super fun to play with. Mmmm…facelift… right now I am living with an excessive amount of builder beige paint in our new diggs. I am chomping at the bit to paint something. I can’t take any more beige! Plus I could use some free time from the kiddos to go shopping for home dec stuff..

  8. Well, you successfully enticed me to come over and check out the new design. I really love the social media buttons in the header. I really want to do that with my blog, but I think it’s well beyond my techie abilities. Seriously.

Anyway, while I was here, I was poking around and popped over to your About Me section. Thought I would suggest that an update might be in order since I know your sweet baby is no longer 9 months old!

  9. Yep, lookin’ good! I just had a pretty big change, so I am hoping things just stay the same for awhile. Hah!

  10. Love it Amy! Looks great! I’ve been neglecting blogging and sewing, instead trying to redesign my blog myself… I’m about ready to give in … I’m a sewer and quilter, not a computer geek, LOL!

  11. I love it, Sukie! I love to move furniture around… sometimes I like how our home feels and leave it for a long time, other times I begin moving everything again in a couple of days…

  12. Love, love the redo and would love to get some help from Mint on mine!

  13. Since my blog is so new I would think everything on it could be changed haha…so this win would be very appreciated.

  14. Ooh buttons are good – your blog looks fab.
I am going to change the surrounding s of my head next week with a haircut – does that count!?

  15. Sukie – This looks terrific! And just so you know, I never felt that your layout was crappy! Besides, you taught me everything I know or needed to know. Yeah, so I’ve just moved across town and love my new space – I’d love it if everything were unpacked and in its place… besides cleaning up my blog so it can be as cool as yours. Even if I don’t win your prize I need to check out Mint 102!

  16. Love the new look! Lately I’ve been needing to lighten up everything in my living/dining room area. All the furniture is black and I need to swap it out for more white + brighter colors. One piece at a time though- dining table first!

  17. I think it looks great. I’d love to win this. This has been on my list FOREVER… pick me ;)

  18. The blog looks great! I’ve been working on a little blog facelift myself and my social media icons suck right now. That’s what I’d really like to change, so your timing is perfect and I’d love to win!

  19. Very nice!

  20. congratulations, it looks great

  21. Looks great! I loved it :)
